Keepers of the knowledge capital: legislating for the new millennium
Abstract
This article presents a discussion about the future of knowledge production within business schools. It questions the traditional “legislative” role of universities and argues that analysts need increasingly to look to the knowledge‐generating activities of groups, such as consultants, in order to understand what is taken as and what constitutes knowledge in the corporate world. The aim of this article is to stimulate debate on the future of knowledge production in both academia and consultancies.
