Abstract
Suggests the need to take a fresh look at management by objectives (MBO). Reviews MBO theory and practise and proposes management by subjective (MBS) offering a way of achieving results using a teamwork approach. Concludes that a rational, friendly approach seems more likely to succeed than a series of bureaucratic fixed targets.
