Organising for Change in Academic Libraries: Context and Strategy

Abstract

The post‐war agents for change in British university libraries are reviewed, and their effects on university librarianship discussed. Declining funds and the impact of automation are discussed in relation to the range of tasks of a university library, and the impact of and opportunities arising from change in relation to staff are considered.
