Tempus finances teacher study visits

Around 250,000 euros has been granted towards EU study visits by 112 higher-education lecturers and administrators from central and eastern Europe, under the EU Tempus programme of higher-education co-operation. The main beneficiaries include Riga Technical University, the Tirana Academy of Arts, the Faculty of Agriculture at Sarajevo University, the Department of Pharmacology at Tuzla University and the Institute of Chemistry at the University of Skopje. In addition, almost 190,000 euros has been granted to a joint European project in Latvia. This involves introducing new degree courses, reforming existing courses, improving university management and creating or reforming academic facilities.
