Prefectural Archives and the Documents and Regulations of Chiba Prefecture

Abstract

Chiba Prefecture has a population of 5.55 million people living within its jurisdiction which consists of the peninsula lying just to the South East of Tokyo. Possessing Narita International Airport and the Port of Chiba, one of Japan's most active ports, Chiba acts as the entryway for Japan to the world. Chiba is also home of Tokyo Disneyland and Nippon Convention Center (Makuhari Messe, a large scale, multipurpose convention facility). As one of the partners in the Trans‐Tokyo Bay Road project, Chiba is industrializing and is advancing to become one of the most active and growing prefectures in Japan.
