Interest rates: The Election non‐issue
Abstract
Caught up in the emotive issues of labour strife and prices, politicians from all three major parties brushed aside the one subject which has been an underlying factor in poor industrial growth. Stanley Alderson looks at the constraints brought about by consistently high interest rates, and calls on management and unions to make this a more pronounced political issue.
