Abstract

Straightforward cost comparisons between vehicle lease and outright purchase are likely to mislead. What the transport executive has to consider are the ancillary — but costly — items of maintenance, workshop equipment and administrative costs which fleet ownership imposes. Here we examine key advantages of leasing and explain the all‐important tax position.
