Abstract

William de Vigier, founder and architect of the Acrow group, has quit the MD's chair after 40 years. But this Swiss‐born entrepreneur of the old school is determined to retain control of Britain's biggest manufacturer of construction equipment with his major personal holding and the controversial use of non‐voting public shares. “The group cannot be taken over — and that gives our team an excellent sense of security,” he tells Ken Gooding.
