Abstract

Seconding managers to act as advocates for aggrieved employees is suggested here by Howard Miners, a senior personnel manager with 3M (United Kingdom). It would, says Miners, provide managers with an insight into the way grievances develop and give workers the means of airing complaints without having to resort to a trade union.
