Training for what?
Abstract
A feature in this month's issue on the work of Government training centres (page 22) is appropriate for two reasons. First, when Employment Secretary, Maurice Macmillan, was talking to Industrial Management last September he painted a glowing picture of the work the centres were carrying out to prepare workers for radical changes in the labour market. Secondly, again relevant to that same interview, the centres were regarded by Macmillan as an integral part of the Government's recently‐announced Training for the Future programme.
