Abstract

British companies got off to a faltering start when it came to staking a claim in the lucrative business of building and servicing North Sea oil rigs. Now, spurred on by an anxious Government, they are busy catching up with US competitors who were quick to move in when the first strikes were made. Report by Jack McGill.
