Abstract

With more than a million out of work, Vic Feather, TUC General Secretary, is demanding that the Government stops basing its optimism, as he sees it, on the belief that ‘something will turn up’. In a hard‐hitting interview with John Lawless, he says it should go against its ‘Holy Writ’ and re‐establish an enlarged Industrial Reorganization Corporation, buy machine tools to boost industry at the heart of the economy and guarantee sustainable growth.
