Glide‐lines for mobility
Abstract
A new kind of electric motor, gaining strength on the industrial scene, is forcing engineers to look at problems afresh as well as making managers weigh the costs and benefits of adopting a new technology. It it already bringing simpler, easier‐controlled, and maintenance‐free power to many kinds of industrial plant, and in future it could be moving things as diverse as sliding doors and trains.
