Abstract

Planning and management of the national economy in Poland is one of the leading factors influencing the country's socio‐economic development. An essential role in the formulation of programs and plans is played by the Congress of the Polish United Worker's Party and the plenary sessions of the party's Central Committee; both evaluate past achievements and map out strategies for Poland's future socio‐economic development. Developed from resolutions and other actions of the congress and committee, socio‐economic plans are given final shape by the Seym (Parliament), the supreme organ of the government.
