Abstract

Report on the Conference “Technology Assessment and the Limits to Growth” The conference was attended by some 400 representatives of business, government, and private institutes from all over North America. A roster of speakers from “Who's Who” of Technology Assessment (hereafter referred to as T.A.) and Future Studies provided a stimulating and challenging exchange of ideas. While no “breakthroughs” were made in the areas of purposes and techniques, delegates generally exhibited all the signs of heightened awareness and concern: dialogues between speakers were energetic; exchanges from the floor were persistent; and the between‐sessions din was evidence of passionate involvement in a relatively new subject of great importance to us all.
