AB  - IT IS THE practice among some large users of ‘soluble’ cutting oils, such as motor manufacturers, to issue specifications imposing pH limitations on the oil in emulsion form. Although the limits fixed may vary widely among different users, the reasons for the particular level chosen are identical and invariably originate from the company medical department through their efforts to control factors likely to contribute to occupational dermatoses.
