Abstract

Those of you who have been addicted to watching television for as long as I have may remember some years ago that the BBC produced a series called ‘The Lions' Den’. The purpose of the programme was to surround a speaker with those whose opinions were most diametrically opposed to his or hers. One would therefore find Andy Warhol with the National Viewers and Listeners Association, Enoch Powell with the Campaign for Racial Equality, Ian Paisley with the Committee of the Provisional Sinn Fein.
