RAPRA—looking to the 80's
Abstract
Changes in the rubber and plastics industries must, of necessity, be mirrored in the work of the Rubber and Plastics Research Association (RAPRA). Also a swing is taking place from income based primarily on member subscriptions coupled with a Government grant to the more commercial approach involving a reduction of grant coupled with the development of income from contract and consultative work. Such changes affect all departments of the Association and during the past ten years radical changes have taken place in RAPRA's approach to the management of information. This paper describes these changes, why they were necessary, and concludes with a brief look at areas still to be developed.
