Abstract

Dear Sir, Since I was unfortunately unable to attend the 40th Annual Conference, I did not have the pleasure of supporting Dr Urquhart from the floor after he had presented his excellent paper ‘Developing user independence’ (Aslib Proceedings, December 1966, p. 351–6). May I therefore now be allowed to make one or two points?
