Abstract

In signing the treaties establishing the three European Communities—the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom) and the European Economic Community (Common Market)—the six member countries have set in motion a complex and far‐reaching process which has already had many repercussions far outside the immediate sectors covered by these formal documents. How far the process will lead, especially in its political implications, we do not yet know, but already the ramifications of integration present many new problems to those concerned with information about its economic consequences.
