AB  - Everybody agrees that we in Britain must have constantly rising levels of industrial efficiency—operating efficiency, development efficiency, selling efficiency. Otherwise our small islands cannot maintain the people who inhabit them; our people cannot continue to constitute a great nation; our sons and grandsons will not receive in their turn the heritage of opportunity which we received; the unique contribution to civilization which Britain has been making for hundreds of years, by her practical demonstration of a sound and fruitful philosophy of politics, sociology and morals, will cease to be made.
