TY - JOUR AB - Mr Carter and Dr. Ranganathan have pointed out that international collaboration meets with many difficulties, and have given precious hints as to how they might be overcome in the future, if the right spirit prevails. To their pertinent developments I would like to add some remarks based on my past experience. As a matter of fact, they are already implicitly contained in Mr. Evans's paper, which gives a remarkable example of how international collaboration can be achieved in a very short time if attacked in the right way,—that is, if founded on practical problems responding to a definite need.
