AB  - The paper reports on the findings from a research project on information technology (IT) in Danish public libraries, the FOLKIT‐project, conducted at the Royal Danish School of Librarianship in Aalborg in 1993/4. Ten pioneer public libraries were selected for an in‐depth study into their use of IT: this involved sending a questionnaire to all staff members and interviewing key IT personnel and chief librarians.
