Abstract

The benefits of microcomputer‐based catalogue automation in the development of a small multi‐site health authority library service are discussed. Implementation of the catalogue and enquiry module of the BOOKSHELF integrated library management package is described. Problems arising from the differing bibliographic record requirements of a special library and university medical library are highlighted, and some potential enhancements to the software suggested.
