Abstract
The Library Association Working Party on Filing Rules, in conjunction with the Documentation Processing Centre of OSTI, has been carrying out a project to determine the feasibility of implementing filing rules by computer. The first stage of this project has now been completed and this paper describes the approach which has been taken and the results which have been achieved so far.
