Computer‐Produced Catalogues at Rand Afrikaans University

Abstract

On 12 September 1968, a computer‐produced library book catalogue was taken into use at the Rand Afrikaans University. This catalogue, which replaces the conventional card catalogue in libraries, was printed on an IBM360/40 machine 18 months after the first officials took up office in the R.A.U. library.
