AB  - The Edinburgh Engineering Virtual Library (EEVL) is a project, funded by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC), which has developed a free gateway to Internet resources in engineering as part of the UK's Electronic Libraries Programme (eLib). The background to the project, its setting up and its development are discussed. Hopes for the future are outlined.
