Abstract

Librarians and information specialists are now becoming much more involved in finding out about new technology and how they can use it themselves as well as for making things easier and more convenient for their customers. The nature of their jobs also entails the librarian often acting as a change agent and thus helping others become aware of and use technology. Since the whole area of technology transfer and diffusion is one in which the electronic library manager must play a role, this editorial (which draws heavily on Rogers' (1983) work) is offered as an introduction to the subject.
