Abstract

Technologists are fond of sharing their dreams, even with people they don't know. Perhaps you've seen one of them. The President of Apple Computer, John Sculley, had one of his made into a video about a product he envisaged for the next century called the Knowledge Navigator. The dream is not unique to Sculley. Indeed, with a few minor modifications, it may be called the generic language industry dream.
