Videotex in libraries and information centres
Abstract
“…the process of information transfer always ends in a human mind, where its effect is inescapably subjective…it is the satisfaction of the subject which determines the success of the system, not the elegance of its engineering, or the sophistication of its software.” “The great problem for libraries is how to connect the inarticulate with the incomprehensible, how to bring the silent needs of their readers into communication with the voluble capabilities of information technologies. It is exactly here that librarians have a vital, interpretive role to play”
