AB  - In this introductory article a general survey is given of the corrosion problems facing food packers and canners. This is a large subject entailing many processes and materials and having technological aspects which sometimes find common ground only in the overriding importance of corrosion prevention. A look is given here at many of these aspects; biochemical and physiological data being supplied where necessary.
