Abstract
In response to the Welsh Clinical Effectiveness Initiative, Carmarthen and District NHS Trust, UK, has established a series of innovative partnership agreements with six pharmaceutical companies to employ a pharmacist as a clinical effectiveness coordinator. This article describes the process by which this was achieved and outlines the progress made in taking evidence‐based medicine forward in a practical way.
