AB  - Calcium carbonates, which are normally classified as extenders in oleoresinous systems, also constitute a very wide range of pigments in other uses that are both diverse in their origin and form. The diversity of form is reflected in their various Theological properties and in the optical properties of the coating. They can be either natural or synthetic and are known for their high binder demand and their usefulness for the smooth matt coatings required for gravure printing. They are also used in the high solids coating field.
