Talis: BLCMP's recently launched UNIX system

Abstract

BLCMP recently launched their totally new system, Talis, at the Library Resources Exhibition. The first prototype has been extensively demonstrated although there is still a considerable amount of development work to be completed. By the time this issue is published the first two installations should be under way. An outline of the system design philosophy and a review of some of the functionality is given.
