TY - JOUR AB - ONE SUNDAY afternoon, some thirty or so years ago, I was standing in Trafalgar Square with a few politically conscious friends and several thousand other people. We were attending a rally (demonstration, demo, you know) demanding Freedom—for Greece, I think. Yes, I'm fairly sure it was. Hands off Guatemala came later, but although that slogan still survives on some London walls, I can now only guess whose were the hands in question and I've quite forgotten if they kept off or were taken off, or not. I know I should be ashamed of myself (and will be when I have the time), but I rarely get around to wondering nowadays how are things in Guatemala.
