Remanufacturing — A Cost Effective Solution for Machine Tool Users

Abstract

THERE is far more to the remanufacturing of machine tools than simply bolting a modern control and drive package onto an old machine carcase. In reality this is akin to putting a Formula 1 racing engine into a family saloon without updating the brakes, tyres and suspension. The chances are that it won't work, and if it does, its life will be short and certainly memorable!
