TY - JOUR AB - IN October 1968 The Boeing Co. announced that the configuration of the U.S. SST had been changed from an integrated wing‐tail, variable‐sweep‐wing design to the fixed‐wing B2707–300. In early 1969 both the FAA and Boeing announced that the firm was preparing to proceed with the final design and construction of the B2707–300 configuration. Since that time Boeing has proceeded to refine and improve the detailed design in anticipation of further funding of the programme for construction and flight testing of two prototypes.
