The criterion in this field was to find the best mixture of British and American equipment that was available and whose reliability was proved and was backed by the manufacturers with a worldwide after‐sales service and product support. Care has been taken in the design stage to ensure case of access to the equipment to facilitate servicing. Another factor to be considered was the stretch potential of the aircraft, with the requirement of up‐grading the airworthiness to FAR Part 25 and BCAR Section D.
