Abstract

The ‘Hallprcne’ patent fluid seal, illustrated in FIG. 1, has been devised to overcome certain disadvantages of the ‘U’ type of packing ring, such as wear at the heel due to fluid pressure distortion of the packing and the inwards collapse of the scaling lips.
