A Large French General‐Purpose Amphibian: Some Details of the S.N.C.A. Du Nord Noroît Which is in Production for French Naval Aviation

Abstract

THE Société Nationale de Constructions Aéronautiques du Nord includes among its component members the old Potez‐CAMS concern, so that the works at Sartrouville on the Seine have behind them many years of experience in the design of marine aeroplanes. The Nord 1400 Noroît long‐range reconnaissance and air‐sea rescue boat amphibian follows directly from the pre‐war Potez CAMS 141 and SNCAN 161 and, although completely modern in layout, some vestige of the earlier influence can be seen.
