Abstract

The IL‐12 design was begun in 1943 and the type was in service with Aero‐flot by 1948. A military version is also in service. The engines are ASH‐82FN 14‐cylinder radials Twin Wasp derivatives giving 1,830 h.p. for take‐off and rated at 1,650 h.p. Hot air de‐icing is fitted to the leading edges of the wing and tail surfaces and fluid de‐icing on the propellers
