AB  - IN an earlier paper we showed that the calculation of the thermodynamic properties of gases obeying the perfect gas law, but having variable specific heats, can be considerably simplified. We introduced a constant, k, which depended solely on the composition of the gas, and was linked with the parts by volume x, of the combustion gas with the aid of the following formula:
