AB  - ELASTIC deformation of the wing in relation to divergence and loss of aileron control has been studied by a number of investigators. Much of the previous investigation is based on the equivalent two‐dimensional wing, the success of which depends on the proper choice of a representative wing section. The three‐dimensional analysis requires a knowledge of the torsional deflexion mode, which in general necessitates an iteration process for evaluation.
