Abstract

An airfoil including a frame comprising a plurality of straight interlocking ribs having a width substantially equivalent to the thickness of the airfoil, said ribs being obliquely disposed to the leading edge of the airfoil and connected with each other in criss‐cross cell formation, each of said ribs further having a peripheral contour conforming to the sectional contour of the airfoil in the plane of such rib.
