Abstract

A MOST disturbing position in regard to aeronautical research in Great Britain was revealed in the course of a debate in the House of Commons on Tuesday, March 11. When we write “revealed” we use the word advisedly ; because this was no question of vague charges brought by some irresponsible and ill‐informed Member of Parliament seeking to grind some party political axe. The individual who felt it his duty to bring the matter up was Dr. A. V. HILL, Independent Unionist Member for Cambridge University, a scientist of proved reputation in the world of research and Secretary of the Royal Society.
