AS we conceive it, the way in which, in the immediate present, we can best serve the cause of Allied aviation is by publishing as much material as we can obtain on German design and methods of production. Once the “fog of war” has closed down this may, of course, become impossible, because technical data will obviously be unlikely to filter through. Meanwhile, however, it will clearly be helpful to British and Allied designers and production managers if we continue the practice, which we had already developed in peace‐time, of providing for them as much information as possible on the work of their opposite numbers in Germany. It has always been agreed that the Germans are clever technicians capable of displaying considerable ingenuity, more particularly in details of production. Their methods have, therefore, always been worth studying.
