AB  - Aerofoils, controlling surfaces and like parts for use in aircraft construction are made of aerated material having a dense surface skin formed from the substance of the aerated material by the moulding or casting process for accommodating surface stresses. The skin may bo reinforced by the insertion of fibrous or woven material or metal, the surface may be corrugated or the structure may be slotted or have reinforcing blocks or blocks or strips to facilitate the attachment of fittings moulded therein. The material may be aerated vulcanized rubber or cellulose acetate.
