TY - JOUR AB - THE first consideration in planning an aerodrome is the purpose for which it is to be used. The specifications in this case include the provision of Customs facilities and hangars for private aircraft, for aeroplanes of medium size and for the largest types of air liner at present in use. This aerodrome is therefore intended to provide for overseas flights, inter‐municipal services and for private flying. The size of field and other details specified are considered to be the minimum required for an air port which combines the operation of all these functions and ample provision is therefore necessary to allow of expansion in all its branches.
