TY - JOUR AB - THE saying that a prophet is not without honour save in his own country has been shown over and over again to be only too painfully true, and there is another glaring instance of it at the present time., We have watched in vain for any reference in the domestic press, and listened equally vainly for any mention of it in conversation among those engaged in aeronautics in England, to an anniversary that falls on April 30, just about the time these lines will be coming from the printing machine. But in America the occasion has not been forgotten and, if we may so presume, we should like to thank the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics for its graceful message of congratulation on the subject contained in its latest annual report. On April 30, 1909, was formed the Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, and we celebrate the event in the following pages by an article reviewing its work from Sir Richard Glazebrook; the only appropriate person to undertake such a task and to whom our thanks are due for kindly accepting our invitation to do so.
