Lack of Clarity in the Foreman's Role with Regard to Delegated Authority
Abstract
How effectively do we communicate to people what we expect of them when we work with them every day? Is there quite often a serious disparity between what we think someone expects of us and what they really expect? This was the focus of the investigation reported here. We were concerned to discover whether there are commonly significant differences between the role expectations that managers have concerning the work of their subordinates and their subordinates' perceptions of those expectations.
